Finally Got my Power King

Recommended Posts

tomtractor

I finally scored my first Economy Power King 1614. Sometimes called a Jim Dandy. It came with a loader and quite a few extra parts. I am working in tuning it up and looking forward to using it with firewood and snow removal. The power king is the reason I am selling my RJ 35 (In classifieds)

Single transmission. 14 HP. I am going in the more useful realm. I want to fart around in the backyard and dig stuff. The RJ 35 is in the Red Square Classifieds.

Looks like a Dandy Jim Dandy. You can tell by the front wheels. JD wheels hve the hub built in while the 1614 would have bolt on wheels to a hub. Be careful. JD spindles are weaker than the PK ones.

Last yr. I had a 58 Economy with a loader on it, she looked like a tired old piece of crap to be perfectly honest with you. Let me tell you though, that thing was a beast and the old 9 hp Briggs had more than enough power! I was off work for a week and I worked it too death clearing out a bunch of debris from the woods behind my house. Not once did I have a problem with it. I often wish that I had kept that thing. You won't be able to dig very deep with it but the push and pull power is pretty amazing. You'll want too find yourself some ag tires for it.
