MOBILITY SCOOTER ELECTRICAL QUESTION

Recommended Posts

illinilefttackle

Hey guys- its not RED but I'm working on it. Quite some time back I got a mobility scooter thru a friend from a garage sale-it is well made-stronger that most-( has to be to haul my arse around). Beats hobbling around on shattered knee & leg-I just finished getting bugs out of the speed controller, etc. and now have it running. It calls for 2 12volt 30 amp batteries that I don't have yet-but I was brought up to make do with with what I had. SO-I am running it on a car battery & a electric scooter battery (12 v-12amp) works good.

Question---it seems to have more power in reverse than forward- can I just reverse the wires at the motor to make it run opposite? Thanks-Al..........Last one is a video

Save Old Iron

Al,

good to see all your investigation into new controllers paid off.

I was on vacation last week so I missed your followup on SOI U.

I asked a few additional questions there to help you with your forward / reverse issues.

Chuck
