seriously?! these 953/1054s are coming out of the woodwork like crazy. i swear this has to be like the 5th or 6th one that popped up in this forum in the last 2 months! That was a steal! Man i really wish another one of these things would come my way.... patience i guess... Congrats on the find!

They both use a kohler k241 engine but the spec number is different so if you still have the kohler tag with the spec number you can tell that way....Spec. 46135A is a 953 / Spec 47176 is a 1054

I believe the 1054 and 1054A use K241S-46215A

47176 is a 12hp K301. Noticed this is wrong in service bulletin 301E.
