Wanted!!! Detailed pics of 55 rj35

Recommended Posts

Jake,

Here are pics of my RJ35's. The only one I am positive on the year is the restored one with the alumium wheel the rest ? The other three I believe are late 55 or early 56 then 56 (electric start one) and I am stumped on the last one? Let me know if you need other pictures and which one and of what. It is better to show it here in this thread then to send emails. This way others can see as well for future reference.

it would have the cast steering wheel they didn't use the other larger wheel until 57 the belt size the original manual calls out a 20" and 37" but I also agree with buckrancher on the pulley size what I did was trial and error with the belts until it worked the way I wanted it too.. good luck :)

I was told 36 and 19 for one by vinsrj. He knows the pulley size. It is now KenB's tractor so he may be able to measure the diameter of the rear pulley.

I checked and mine has the 6 1/2" pulley if that makes a difference. Thanks Jake

Jake, the sizes that Steve listed are for a stock engine pulley and a 6" rear pulley, that's the size of the rear pulley that I sold to Ken.

It really comes down to trial and error, especially with the 6.5" pulley. Start with a 19" / 36" combo first and then increase to a 37" if need be. Remember you will have to mess with the adjustment rod too. It took me a maddening couple of nights to dial it in correctly.

Ive been thinking about selling my 4 RJ-58s and all the attachments and parts I have. I have 4 tractors-2 have Kohler K91T , 1 has the Clinton and one has no engine. Only 1 is missing the serial number decal. Kohlers run. Clinton needs a carb. I have original exhaust shields AND belt guards for 3 of them. 3 mower decks, 2 plows, cart, 2 spare transmissions, parts breakdowns, original manuals and sale tags, seats, tires.  Not sure if I should sell it as 1 big collection or break it up. And also a good starting price?  I'll post pics when I get a chance. Thanks
