smoreau 658 #1 Posted July 13, 2012 :confusion-helpsos: I'm trying to get Gabbys Lawn Ranger ready for the Charlotte show and I want to buy some new tires front and rear. Ags in back and 3 rib in front. Rears will be 18x9.50-8's and I need to figure out what size for the front. The options are 1 of these 3 tires. 3.00-4, 3.50-4, and 4.00-4. They will be tubed as they are split rims. Has any one put 3 ribs on a lawn ranger? pics are good for comparison. hear is the tractor before the tare down. So any help would be appreciated! Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted July 13, 2012 My fronts are one size smaller than Mikes, the rears I think are 20x9.5x8 I had to raise the fender about 1/4" if I remember right. I can check sizes if you want, I know the front tires are not cheap. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sorekiwi 761 #4 Posted July 13, 2012 Yeah, I remember that Kelly got the smaller size about the same time as I got mine. Mine are the Vredestein V-60's 4.00-4. smoreau 658 #7 Posted July 13, 2012 That's fine Kelly, I settled in about a hour ago LOL The show is sneaking up on me! and I still have to get one tractor down from its winter storage space 10' up on a shelf. smoreau 658 #9 Posted July 13, 2012 :banghead: Miller tire is out of stock on 3.50-4 try rib tires, but they have them on evil bay with tubes for $80 + shipping. I will call in the morning, They are open but Bev is not in tell mon. I did order the rear ags from work at $56 each + tax. Cheaper then any one else and no shipping. I'm planning to be at the Charlotte show on saturday and then maybe I could take a closer look at your lawn ranger.(?) I think your set-up is a good idea as I will be worried a little about my sons feet near those rear tires when I get the lawn ranger running. Thanks again. bran1har 0 #14 Posted June 6, 2013 I found a place to buy these front tires. Go down to harbor freight and buy the 10in tire for $5.99. No joke, keep reading. Then separate the rim it comes with and put the tire onto your rim. It is a tad skinier, but work fine and looks good too. Best part is $12 for a pair of fronts! I did it to my ranger and it works nice. Only thing is that the tube doesn't have a bent valve stem so you need to re drill a valve stem hole farther up towards the rim of the wheel. FreddieFarmall 1 #15 Posted June 6, 2013 Just a suggestion-when you take those front tires off don't damage/throw out. They look pretty good, and there are no current tires that match that tread pattern. There are tires with that style lug, but the lugs are smaller. bran1har 0 #16 Posted June 6, 2013 Keep in mind, I changed them for a reason. The right one's sidewall got torn or something and you can see the tube through it. The left on is ok though.
