A tiller dimension needed

Recommended Posts

Wondering if someone can give me a dimension off one of their tillers.

What I need is drawn on this photograph:

IMG_3651_mod.jpg

From the centre of the bar that mounts into the rear axle bracket to the centre of the forwardmost bolt attaching the frame to the tiller.

I have a 1966 vintage tiller that seems to be shorter in the frame area, the RT366 tiller was designed to run off a double pulley on the hydro transmission, and the frame appears to put the tiller too close to the rear of the tractor to run a later set-up.

Any help with this dimension would be greatly appreciated.

As measured in the almost dark corner of the garage. 11'' +/- 1/4

Thanks for getting me that Mike. Mine measures 6 1/2" so that accounts for the lack of space to fit the idler!!

In the interest in putting this information out there for someone in the future that is trying to identify pieces, I'll post a picture to show the difference between the mounting frame of a 1966 vintage RT-366 and the later "more normal" tiller mounting frame:

The short one is from the RT-366 the longer one is the common later model one, courtesy of my favorite go-to parts guy Kelly.
