Picked Up a '61 Suburban

Recommended Posts

grnlark

Last night I picked up a nice, clean '61 Suburban not far from my house. The sheet metal is super straight, its complete with a mower deck that mows, Kohler 4hp, fully rebuilt trans and I do have the belt guard, which is equally as nice. This one immediately graduated to the "not for sale" pile.

It's funny because as soon as I saw it a couple weeks back I was like, "That's mine" and I was on a mission ever since to get over there and get it. It's one of the cleanest and straightest Subs I have ever seen. It has been repainted at one point in it's life but is a decent job. Last night I hit a small spot on the bottom side of the hood with an automotive cleaner wax and it looks like the paint will shine up nicely with some elbow grease. I'm thinking a quick blast on the rims and seat and some fresh antique white and that's it.

Sounds like a solid plan Matt. Once finished with the touch-ups I'd launch that muffler.

Well yeah, the rediculous muffler is on the to-do list too.
