Early Snowblower Engagement Knob Size

Recommended Posts

Fun Engineer

I picked up an early-mid 60's snowblower that came with a large knob with a flat surface (like an 8 speed) on it for the belt engagement rod. Can anyone tell me if this the correct knob? If not, what diameter knob is correct? Sorry, no picture.

The correct knob is P/N 1001 ~ the same as the majority of the 60's three speed shifter knobs.

Without measuring one, I'd guess them to be about 1.5" in diameter.

Thanks Terry. I've got a drawer full of new p/n 1001 I can use.

Hey Dwayne

Thanks for the offer but I have the rod and just had it zinc plated. The knob that was on it is not the right size and I needed to know the right size. Sounds like it is a 1 1/4 inch knob. Is that what is on yours?

Yes, I picked up a 68' 32" that I adapted to the workhorse so I didn't need the rod. Thanks again for the paint code sheet and manuual!!
