"POND" LINEAGE?

Hi Guys- A relative of mine does family tree research on the side- she has sent me a note referring to direct family lineage to a "Samuel Pond" Born-1648 Windsor, Hartford, Conn.--Died 1718 Guilford, New Haven , Conn. She is having a bit of trouble finding anymore info on Samuel's family tree. I was just wondering what the chances are that he may be related to Cecil Pond ? Anybody know? If not I'll keep trying to find out more. Thanks-Al
