jay in nc 210 #1 Posted April 16, 2012 so last april i bought a 72 bronco 14 off e-bay, turns out the seller was member kj4kicks , eldon a super nice guy & one of our vendors on the square. well he delivered it to the big show in june & i picked it up there so i had a horse to ride there. i brought it home & didnt have time to mess with it much. so with the meet & greet comming up in 2 weeks april 28 i want to get more horses going. well it needed a front tire so i dismounted it wire wheeled all the rust & paint off the wheel then primed & painted it. next i mounted a used tire & tube & put it back on the bronco. next was an oil change & a new battery, full tank of gas with seafoam in it. BOY DOES IT RUN GREAT ! well i put it on the lawn, made a lap & the deck fell off , so i get it back on & put a pin in the tatch a matic so it won't hapen again. well it dosn't cut at all, so back to the shop ,jack it up & look at the blades there on upside down so they were trying to cut with the back side, fliped them & went back on the lawn & i cut for 15 min. it's better but not great , yery littile coming out the side discharge. so back to the shop, take the blades off again & i figgured out that they were for a left hand discharge deck like my A.C. B10. well i had a deck that was totaly rusted out but had good blades on it so i sharpened them up & installed them and mowed 2 tanks of gas through it ! it mowed great but the small rusr hole in the r. r. corner will need repaired soon. when i put it away i checked the oil & it didnt use a drop. thanks eldon for selling me a good tractor. kpinnc 14,711 #5 Posted April 16, 2012 I've seen that tractor before... Eldon was thinning the herd a bit, and sold quite a few of them. I wish the budget would have allowed me to buy a few of them myself! I'm a big fan of Broncos Jay, glad to see another one put back in service. See you on the 28th! jay in nc 210 #13 Posted April 18, 2012 i dont know when it was made , it's a nos hh 120, got it to fire on carb cleaner tonight but the float bowl gasket come off in 20 pieces, and the pull rope was so dryrottedit broke twice. i will try again tomorow. i see a starter-generator set up in it's future. did W.H. ever offer one for a tecky? Wheel-N-It 2,976 #14 Posted April 18, 2012 I don't know bout the starter/generator for a Horse, but I do have one of those in a 1960's Simplicity 728 Broadmoor. It has a vertical shaft 8hp Briggs engine in it. You should have that tecky running in no time.
