Bearing removal - Double-D spindles

Recommended Posts

darren

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to drift the bearings out from the larger-shaft Double-D type deck housings?

I've never tried drifting out bearings before. A quick search has shown it shouldn't be too hard on the housings that use the thinner spindle shafts because you can move the sleeve inside the housing to get some access to the face of the bearing.

I'm just wondering how easy it is to get to the bearings on the larger-diameter spindles as there's no internal sleeve to move and peering down the hole, there doesn't look like much bearing face to attack..

Thanks for your help!

Darren
