fuel tank

Recommended Posts

Cessna

Yesterday my truck quit and I could not get back into my driveway. I got the WH GT 1142 and a tow cable and started to move the F-250. Unfortunately the tow strap came loose and the hit the bottom of my fuel tank (plastic) and the gas leaked out. Can the plastic be repaired? If so, how?

I have not found a glue or solvent that will mend polyethylene. The best thing to do is find a good used tank and replace it. I currently have one that I just listed on eBay. Item #320884768385. If you need it in a hurry, I can end the auction early.

Used fuel tanks are fairly cheap and plentiful. It would be easier to just replace it than try and repair it.

Yep find another, not worth the aggro bro...but then again...if you were determined to try, and get creative...this stuff just might give you the best results. :dunno:

http://www.harborfre...=plastic+welder You can probably buy a tank cheaper but this can be used over again and you could actually recoup your initial investment!

Wheel-N-It

I have repaired several cracked truck batteries by using a big electric soldering iron and melting plastic strips i cut out of a gallon milk jug into the crack and melting the cracked area of the battery to fuse it all together. I have probably done this to four or five batteries and it worked every time. I would not hesitate to try this on a WH fuel tank.
