The "mystery build" has begun!

So....I started collecting the parts and pieces for the mystery build.....

First, a frame from a 520......

Then an old seat pan from a 417.....

Now some miscellaneous sheet metal......

And some more sheet metal.....

And a hood from 314-8 that was NOS but damaged in shipping to the dealer, who took it off the tractor, replaced it with a new one and stored this one for Lord knows how long. I knocked out the dents, sanded out the scratches and repainted it, creating......

(Yes, I am using another tractor as a work bench!)

And the seat pan from the 417, after MUCH sanding, filling and unbending a few things, became this.......

There's a 520 forward swept axle, steering gear and front wheels waiting for me in Massachusetts, along with an 8-speed tranny, both from RS members here - thanks, guys!

The power plant - THAT's the mystery...........

Right on as to the rim color, Stephen. Gas for fuel......

No flux capacitor, although the idea is tempting!

Would love to make a Harley Horse but can't swing the funds for the engine - great idea, though!
