racinfool40 203 #1 Posted March 3, 2012 Well had a 5' woods belly mower I picked up cheap and a new 17.5 Kohler vert. shaft I picked up cheap' So got the ole mind going and this is what I came up with. Today I finally got it going and almost ready for mowing season..If ya notice the big black coiled wire with the gray box..Well I will be able to start and engage the electic clutch all from the seat of a tractor..I will be pulling it with either of my Wheel Horse tractors or my 1948 Farmall wide front cub..Enjoy the pics!!

bowtiebutler956 650 #4 Posted March 3, 2012 That's awesome, I love it. I've always thought the deck on my B-80 was to small, this would be a sure cure for that problem. Very nice craftsmanship. Matt

6wheeler 669 #20 Posted March 5, 2012 Nice job. I have a 48" JD deck I am doing the same thing with. Is yours adjustable for height? I am making what basically is a cart and hang the deck with the original brackets. Mine is gonna be just a little over-killed cuz I just happen to have a 20hp Kohler that will be on it. I never thought of the coiled wire though. I would like to make mine so I can start it and engage from the tractor seat, if I can just figure out how to make the throttle work it will be sweet. Yours looks heavy enough to maybe use as a brush cutter as well. I like it. Good work. Pat
racinfool40 203 #21 Posted March 5, 2012 Yes it's adjustable I can vary the height from 1-1/2 to 6" above the ground the front wheels have different holes and bushings on the shaft to change the height.. The rear Has an all thread rod..All I have to do is turn the top nut up or down to change the rear height. I had been looking at buying one from TSC but didn't like the way they were made (cheap) and I figured I could make one better. I mow a lot of lots around the town I live in so I figured it would come in handy.. MIKE
