picked up a 1973 14hp tractor

yes i have a problem. i can't seen to keep 1 tractor for too long lol.

i picked this up the other day.

1973 no name 14hp. not in too bad of shape but needed some tinkering and adjustments to get running.

the deck lowering handle has the up postion lock worn on it so it won't stay up.

it looks like i might be able to shim it to get it to work.

deck has no rust and spins great.

obviously the seat needs to be redone.

a few small things and i think it will be a great tractor for the long run (i hope) hahaha.

other than some small wiring issues it does have an issue i've never run into before.

when you sit down on the seat or push down on the seat the rpm's go up (when it's running of course lol).

i need to look into this as it's never happened on any other horse i've had.

anybody have any idea's what would cause this?.

Hmmm....strange! The seat springs are on backwards but that wouldnt make the rpm's increase.

It'll be interesting to hear what it finally ends up being.

ok i think i found the rpm issue.

the fuel shut off had some junk in it. plus the fuel lines were dry cracked.

i cleaned it out and put on all new fuel lines and the issue seems to be gone. i hope lol.
