Metal Casting Company??

Recommended Posts

mattd860

Does anyone know of a good shop that can cast parts for me? I specifically need the older Wheel Horse Brake Pedal cast since it's no longer available. Toro does make a similar pedal but it it not ideal for my custom hydro foot pedal kits. I have a spare discontinued foot pedal that I want to send off to a casting company so they can duplicate it.

The pedal I'm referring to is below (from a 300/400 series 8-speed WH).

Just keep watching eBay. They come up every now and then. It would probably cost you less in the long run.

Possibly - but I've bought every available used pedal for the time being. I can't rely on random ebay pedal sales to keep up with the demand of foot pedal kits!

Can you use pedals from B/C Series?

nope. I wish I could since there is plenty of supply of those. Must be from 300/400 series tractors. The brand new pedal from Toro does work fine but the older ones feel a lot better IMO.

Charliesd250 had someone cast some sicklebar skid shoes for me and I see he also did the Pond steering wheels. Price was reasonable too.

There is a good casting foundry in Neenah Wisconsin

Just called the Neenah foundry . They used to make

many parts for school buses so they might gear up for

a short run !

I would like to suggest you to take help from butterfly bronze. They are unique metal casting foundry and you wiil not get diappointed.

They do modeling, mold making, casting, patination, producing metals, waxing and delivery.

What with tooling costs, its unlikely you will find a foundry to quote you a price you

can live with. Keep looking, someone is parting out and has one for you.

I think it be more cost effective to locate a local metal fab/welding shop & have a pedal made.

It may not look OEM, but for the benefits of your kit....I think most people buying one could live with it.

Still hopeing to grab one this summer for my C175 Auto too.

YOU CAN NOT USE THE OLD UNIT BECAUSE THE CASTING WILL COME OUT SMALLER. WHEN THE CASTING COOLS IT GETS SMALLER. (ABOUT 10%.)

coldone - I took your recommendation and called Odd Duck Foundry and they have been FANTASTIC and are excited to start producing the pedal for me. I haven't nailed down a price yet because I haven't mailed them the actual pedal to duplicate but I will mail it tomorrow and hopefully have a price by the end of the week. The owner has already offered a ton of suggestions and has been eager to help even though I haven't paid him a dime yet. All the other foundries that have even bothered to return my call were no help at all.

Below is the pedal that they will be duplicating (hopefully!!). Special thanks to member CTBT&D for making me the reverse pedal.
