Great new Wheel Horse COE pic found

Recommended Posts

CasualObserver

Those of you who've been to my website have probably seen the old DR COE picture that I have on the snowmobile page. It's not really snowmobile related and I probably should move it, but it's the right age, and well... where else would I put it?

I've been in touch with the photographer of that picture numerous times, and he had always told me that he had another picture of the trucks that replaced that one... this morning after about two years, he actually found it. I had this in my email. Does anyone have access to Adobe Photoshop that could clean up the original image for me? Please PM me if you do/can.

There is something screwy with this sites image settings.

I have cleaned up this picture and it won't let me post it.

It say I cannot load this file type.....and it is jpeg.

And it is 28.8 k in size..... What's up?

Finally after 3 attempts!

Mike, why don't you try using a remote hosting site like Photobucket?

It would cut down on loading time on posts, and it's much quicker to upload photos.

The maximum allowable attached image size here has recently been reduced in hopes that members will use the remote hosting - mainly so the posts will load faster for those with dial-up and/or slow computers.

I did also get the background on when and where the photo was taken.

Jason, I shot that picture sometime during the summer of 1974 @ the Valley View Diner which was located where I-91 crosses over U.S. 5 (Riverdale Road) in West Springfield, MA. The Wheel Horse rigs would deliver or pickup right off of the next exit going North on I-91.

Apparently Wheel Horse had some sort of satellite manufacturing facility or outsourced part vendor there. Anyone know this location? What could it be? B) East coast distribution warehouse, maybe? I've scrolled around on the good'ol googlemaps, and near as I can tell, that would put it somewhere in the vicinity of what is currently the Holyoke Mall. Anybody from that area that would know what kind of manufacturing would have been going on there in the early 70s?
