CTPATRIOT 12 #1 Posted January 22, 2012 Did the 300 series ever have an atach a matic adjuster on the dash?(like the older tractors)
boovuc 1,090 #2 Posted January 22, 2012 If you mean the height adjustment knob at the bottom of the column for mid-mount attachments, then yes. They were on the manual 8-speed tractors in the 300, 400 and even 500 series line.
CTPATRIOT 12 #3 Posted January 22, 2012 Anybody have a pic of this?
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted January 22, 2012 Not all of them had it, I've sold a few set ups off other tractors so it could be added, I have a 310-8 that does not have it, but next to it is a 314-8 that does, As for pics most of it is inside the dash tower so you can't see much, just the knob, and a few threads. CTPATRIOT 12 #5 Posted January 22, 2012 Thanks for the info Kelly. Are the parts easy to install?I'd like to get them sometime.Just took a pic of my dash,no adjuster!
Kelly 1,033 #6 Posted January 22, 2012 They are not to hard to install, you do have to remove a few things, L side cover, both console panels, all the holes should be there, most of the time the set ups I sell do not come with the console panels, so the buyer has to notch the panels to except the knob, not a big deal. Wyattrrp 59 #11 Posted January 23, 2012 CT Funny that your dash photo above shows your vertical panel has the "Down / Lift / Up" arrow decal for the adjuster, where the adjuster knob should be. My '90 312-8 has the adjuster, as does my '81 C-125-
chinoman279 10 #12 Posted January 23, 2012 I have a '89 312-8 which does not have it. I wish it did. My father ordered it brand new and I can't believe that he did not opt to get it. My '90 310-8 has the adjuster. Works great for snow plowing.
pyroplegic 55 #13 Posted January 23, 2012 I just got my WH this summer and havent plowed with it yet. How would the adjuster help with the snow? I'd assume loosen it all the way to put the blade compleetly on the pavement and just push.
chinoman279 10 #14 Posted January 23, 2012 There are times you may not want maximum downward pressure on the blade. If you are plowing a concrete drive where the breaks are not level. It is also handy when pushing the piles across the grass so you are not digging up the grass and dirt. I also use it to raise the blade if I plow part of the yard. I plow a path through the yard so I can easily pull a trailer full of firewood up to the door to move to the basement. One of the drives I plow is made of large rocks cemented in place. I raise it up to not chip up the rocks or eat up the bottom of the plow. I'm sure there are many other reasons too. On the other hand when I plow my drive which is smooth cement I put maximum downward pressure and I also throw an 80 pound sand bag on top of the plow. Duff 206 #15 Posted January 23, 2012 CT Funny that your dash photo above shows your vertical panel has the "Down / Lift / Up" arrow decal for the adjuster, where the adjuster knob should be. My '90 312-8 has the adjuster, as does my '81 C-125-8 I think the decal you're looking at is actually for the implement lift handle and is standard on all manual lift 300-400 series tractors, but I could be wrong...sure wouldn't be the first time! Duff
Wyattrrp 59 #16 Posted January 24, 2012 DUH....Duff I never really paid attention to what that decal was referencing since it was half hidden behind the knob for the attachment height adjuster so I Just assumed it was for the knob. Your reply makes sense now. I always assumed that adjustment was standard equip with the C series and after on the 300 400 since both mine had them. I ordered my '81 new back then and it arrived several weeks later, without any special order of an option for the adjuster. My dealer must'veordered it with it or the C series came on it. My manual shows it with no Option reference? Live 'n learn. Thanks for the common sense answer. Wyatt
Kelly 1,033 #17 Posted January 24, 2012 All C series came with it standard, not till the 300's was it a option, and I think certian models it came on standard.
