Marlin Glenfield Model 60 22lr question

I bought this 22 from an auction a couple summers ago. I think I got it for $60. The problem with it was that it was missing the front sight.

I found a front sight on ebay last week. I just got it in the mail a couple days ago and rushed out to the garage to put it on. Much to my dismay - it just wouldn't go on without forcing it. :dunno:

So this morning I decided to do a little internet research and it appears there was an Old style and New style front sight. The old style looked like this (the one I bought): http://www.google.com/imgres?q=marlin+g ... x=70&ty=63

The new style didn't wrap around the mag tube and barrell and just screwed to the top. Anybody got an Idea if I can make this sight work?

The problem with the new sight is it tweeks the mag tube towards the barrel...

Try numrich gun parts. The site is a little difficult to navigate through. I typed in "marlin model 60 front sight" . when the results pulled up i had to narrow the search, there was a list in the top that had alot of different models listed. I just went to the "model 60" and clicked it.

Maybe this link will take you to the page that had the sights.

They have the schematics in the websites so dont fall for paying $0.99 for it, just dig around a little.
