Some cool old equipment from Grandfather

Recommended Posts

truckin88

My grandparents are in a nursing home, (they are both 95+) and we have to sell their house, so we had an estsate sale, but before we did that, he told us to see what tools and etc we wanted and take them. I got some really great hand tools, wrenches, sockets, lots are very old, but that was when they were usa made with pride, and it is cool they were my grandfathers. He had Craftsman, Snap-on, Proto stuff, back when I was a little kid, the old man could fix anything he came from the mechanic business. Anyways two piece of equipment I thought you'd guys would think were cool was the Simplicity Tiller and 1948 CH Pressure Queen Air compressor, they all still work he even had a new NOS pulley for he compressor. MY old man got the 314-A w/ 48" deck and peco vaccum cart, pretty much mint, except for seat. We had to change the battery, check the oil on the ol K series, she starte right up. 1500+ hours, still a beast

Cool! Is that compressor a 4 banger? :wh: My brother got my grandfather's old Wizard tiller circa 1964. I think it's still got the original points. I replaced the belts for him about 10 yrs ago. The reverse belt was shot. The main drive belt still had Western Auto stamped on it! :dunno:

it is a 4 banger, I believe the first one made, from what I read, also the first to really be able to do non pulsing for spraying paint.
