grnlark 489 #1 Posted November 10, 2011 Note to self: next time you buy a junk tractor check to make sure the engine is bolted down before you take the first corner - lol Ever wonder what a flying Wisconsin looks like? :dunno:

grnlark 489 #5 Posted November 11, 2011 Nice tease Matt.....now give us all the details of this flyin motor story! Mike......... So, I went and picked up this Bolens 850 only because I wanted the 5x12 rear rims for my Beaver tractor. The 5x12's are becoming harder and harder to find. What I didn't realize was that the Wisconsin wasn't bolted down. I pushed the tractor up on the trailer, strapped it down and off I went. Well, at the first stop light I take a left turn and see the motor slide off and go bye-bye! Thankfully, it clipped the side rail of the trailer and bounced back into the trailer. Surprisingly, nothing happened to the motor - not even a scratch. There was a small extension tube for the oil drain that snapped off though, so the oil started pouring out. I just put the motor on its side and strapped it down. Very luck to say the least. BTW - if anyone wants an early 60's (1962 I think) Bolens 850, reletively complete - $40 as you see it (less the 5x12 rear rims).
