Anybody seen the recent Kia Optima Hybrid ads on TV?

If that's about the horse head and wheel logo thing... it was on during the superbowl... there was a topic about it. If search was working I'd be able to find it for you.

Umm, yes it is.

I guess I need to get out more. :dunno:

P.S.: Nice avatar.

No harm.... heck we probably have 1000 new members since then. Of course... only about 20 of them post. :dunno:

And thanks... that's the pumpkin on my front porch... just carved up the other night.

IIRC, I got my behind handed to me for mentioning the likeness the first time around. Don't let Karl catch you guys.

Seriously? I had no idea it was such a touchy issue.

Maybe we'll get lucky and that old discussion was one of the ones that got "lost" in the conversion to the new RedSquare.

Or maybe CasualObserver can find a way to "lose" that old topic and this current one. :wh:

Actually, I'm not that worried about Karl, at least for now -- I think he's probably gonna sleep for about 72 hours straight after everything he's been through recently. :dunno:

I searched high and low on the other forum for that thread, but couldn't find it. It was there one day and gone the next. Guess that explains it.

Is it possible for someone to share what makes it a "red" topic without igniting a firestorm of some controversy I don't want to find myself in the middle of? (I've unintentionally stuck my foot in it a couple of times in the past.)

If posting it publicly is problematic, feel free to PM me.

Just curious....

I found the posts, they were removed and NO not by me.

Second, there are 2 search indices, one completed updating, the other is the reason for the 10:00am daily window. I have switched the search to the one that has completed so search should be working. When the other one completes, I will move to that one as it is more comprehensive.

I didn't think it was touchy either :dunno: just old news... that's all.

And why would I "lose" either topic? I told you if search had been available I would have found it. (and it's here by the way ----> viewtopic.php?f=27&t=24584 ) Seems like a rather abrasive statement for someone who doesn't know me.

Jason, I apologize, I didn't mean for any of that to be abrasive at all.

I was just responding to amcrules00's comment about Karl seeing this topic, by suggesting that it could somehow "disappear". It wasn't meant to be a serious suggestion by any means, just humorous ... apparently it wasn't that funny.

Sorry for the confusion. :dunno:

Thanks. No harm... just felt like...ah... nevermind. :dunno::help:

And CB, when posts are removed, it's generally just because it's something that going to flame and cause controversy, hurt feelings and angry posting. Unfortunately (or fortunately, I guess) these get reported to the mods/admins (if we haven't noticed it already) and we have to decide to either let it ride out and hope it dies off, or move it to an archive so it can at least be referenced if there's ever a question. Some posts get moved to the vault immediately while that's being determined, and others remain in the general forum.

Posts can also be removed for a variety of other reasons... such as duplicate or blank entries, posts that are just a link to a topic that doesn't exist, posts about topics that aren't supposed to be discussed (ie. religion, politics etc...) profanity, bashing or flaming for any reason (particularly about members and other people) or something that's just generally distasteful or offending to the general public... it's not something we do lightly, and generally there is discussion and consensus amongst the mods when it happens.

Hope that explains it a little. :wh:

Thanks Jason.

I hope I didn't imply I had a problem with the post being removed. As I said, I have inadvertently "stepped in it" a few times, treading on subject matter that was sensitive for one reason or another, or posted a poorly-worded comment that others didn't appreciate. Like the majority of folks here, I don't need the drama, so if the Mods pull something down :dunno: , or close a thread, I'm totally cool with it.

My comment was really just curiosity, because ever since the thread was removed a year or more ago, I've always wondered what about that topic could have possibly been controversial. I haven't lost sleep over it, but when I saw this new thread, I figured I'd chime in. Although....just now as I typed that last bit, I realized that I probably would have said that about those other topics too, until I looked back and observed how they devolved into something unpleasant. So while I'm still curious, I'm happy to let it drop.

I give HUGE credit all the mods; especially to Karl as he has navigated all the nightmares of a change-over like the one we've just experienced. I salute all of you guys and hope my comment did not offend. :wh:

IIRC, it had something to do with copyright infringement and our :wh: vendors. Also, I think the correct terminology used at that time was "buried" not removed. I could be mistaken though. :dunno:
