Shuboxlover 480 #1 Posted October 24, 2011 Long story short........I was VERY excited about grilling some nice steaks tonight, anyway, my grill (which I've had for a little over 5 years) is in need of burners (x3) and heat deflectors (x3) and I ended up almost ruining the steaks Anyway, my question to you guys....I've spent the last hour and a half finding the cheapest place online to buy the parts.....$126.10 I only paid like $250 or $275 for the grille back when. I don't necessarily have enough money (I could but don't really want to) spend $250-$300 on a grille right now. Do I just suck it up and pony up the extra dough to buy a new one, or do I spend the smaller amount to put new burners/deflectors in a 5 year old grille. Let me know what you think. :thanks:
Trouty56 567 #2 Posted October 24, 2011 I have a Weber and I would replace the burners and heat deflectors before buying a new one. It was the small grill and cost 400 when new. Still looks new on the outside. I mainly use the front area and noticed the deflectors were getting burned up a bit there so I moved them to the rear and brought the back ones to the front. Will need a set of them soon. Good luck.
6wheeler 669 #3 Posted October 24, 2011 Unless the body of the grille is rusted through, I would replace the innards. I usually keep a grille for 2 rebuildings. The one I have now (Great Outdoors- Pinnacle series) is probably the best grille I have ever had. It will definately get rebuilt when needed. Good Luck and Happy Grillin. rmaynard 16,291 #4 Posted October 24, 2011 As 6wheeler said, unless you have holes in the body or hood of the grill, there is no sense in buying a new one at this time. Just replace the burners and deflectors. I have replaced the burners and deflectors in my Weber once in 8 years, and the igniter just this summer. I found the best place to purchase parts online is Amazon.
