60 watt headlight bulbs

Recommended Posts

Can my C-175 handle that much wattage or will something blow. I have a headlight that is out and would like to replace them both with something brighter.

Thanks.

I think you will be fine! I used to run a pair of automotive fog lamps as headlamps on my Raider 12 with a k-301 and never had an issue.

My 520's have halogen bulbs factory, they are brighter than the 312 I had, maybe just find a set of them, I'm sure a auto parts store can set you up, just make sure the connectors on the bulb will work with your wiring or you may have to replace the ends.

According to OHM's Law, the 2 lights @ 60 watts each will pull 10 amps from your system.

If you have additional lights or equipment drawing current, you need to factor that current draw also.

Your charging system is probably 15 amp....correct?
