hummod 0 #1 Posted September 29, 2011 I was at the point in my tractor project where I installed the engine and set up the throttle cable. The governor is giving me a problem. It works when the engine is first started and pushes back on the governor arm as it should. Then after half a minute more or less the governor seems to disconnect. I re-adjust the settings and the same thing happens. Works for a short time then nothing. It seems to happen when I increase the engine speed above idle. This is a K161 in a 753. The engine works great otherwise with no smoke or knocks. I would really hate to completely dis- assemble a nice running engine to get at the governor gear. hummod 0 #3 Posted September 29, 2011 Yes, I think I set it up as I should. I can hold back the governor arm and feel the weights wanting to push the arm back. The higher the rpm the more the arm pushes back. Then all of a sudden, nothing, no push at all.
