mrc 729 #1 Posted September 21, 2011 hi guys, i'm fixing up a 312-8 for my friend bob. i noticed that the mower lift bar has been worn by the center spindle grease zerk. i was thinking of drilling a hole in the lift bar and installing a large washer and hair clip so the lift bar cannot contact the zerk. what do you guys think of that and i'm open to any suggestions you have. thank you. mike in mass. tunahead72 2,346 #3 Posted September 22, 2011 Yep, what mr.pipes said, no need to drill any holes. In fact, somebody pointed out somewhere here (can't find it now) that the parts manual actually shows that exact washer/hairpin setup on the lift bar.
