C-162

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a 1974 C-162. I've never seen a tractor with decals that designated the 162. Did they just receive the C-160 decals since it's the same tractor only with a different brand engine? Or maybe the C-162 had no decal?

There was never a C-162. Wheel Horse made a "16"(auto or 8 speed) a C-160 and a C161 and a C165. Its probably one of those tractors. Can you post the model#?

Ahh Sparky...

1974, one year only...Wheel Horse produced the only C series tractor with a Tecumseh engine !

It is called the C-162...an 8-Speed with engine HH160-170019.

I have one in my collection. I can post a photo, but as stated in the first post, it has decals like the C-160.

It still says C-160 on the side, and the ID 1-0385 is designated by Toro as a 1974 C-160 8-Speed. Where does the C-162 come from?

Where does the C-162 come from?

Right HERE. :thumbs2:

All of my real :banghead: books list it as a C-160 too (just like the Kohler-powered 1-0380 C-160) so perhaps that's where the confusion comes from. :banghead:

There were also a few Tecumseh-powered C-120 models.

There was also a C-120 with the Tech in 1974 and 1975...

TT beat me to it.

Right HERE.

So is that an official Wheel Horse or Toro document, or a compilation by someone else?

Is the "C-162" mentioned anywhere in "Straight From The Horse's Mouth"?

Inquiring minds need to know.

Hmmm....didnt know anything about a C-162. I thought the Tec powered tractors recieved the "Special" designation on the decal.

Learn something everyday :thumbs2: .

Model # is 10385 9, I also got a tiller model # 7 1251 9. Anyone know where I can get a manual for the tiller? The tractor is just like Marvs.. thanks for the pics Marv.

Maybe the confusion is the word "too."

The guy I got the tractor from told me the only difference between the 160 and the 162 was the engine brand. Don't have pics yet, I left the camera at the office but I'll get some up soon. Thanks for the help.
