Chute operation on 79360 snowthrower

Recommended Posts

I have a 1995 Wheelhorse 520H and just purchase a snowthrower attachment for it. It is in brand new condition but notice that there is a lot of play in the chute assembly where it pivots or turns on the machine. The wurm gear will not stay engaged. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I'm curious about this too. I have a very good working tall-chute single stage that the chute turns OK on as long as I don't take it all the way to 180 degrees.

I've adjusted it every which way but loose and it runs off the threads of the worm gear if I move it too far left or right. :thumbs2:

The wurm gear on mine runs off the chute gear immediately. The only thing that I can see that should affect this are the three black plastic sliders on the chute. Are these known to wear out and need replacement? The problem here is that this is virtually a new machine and should not be wore out.

Guys:

Have you tried to adjust and tighten the nut below the worm gear?

Once or twice a winter, I have to make this adjustment...
