horsnround 0 #1 Posted August 6, 2011 My horse is a raider 14-8, I've had it about 3 yrs. I got it to plow my garden, but after getting a ( CRAPSMAN) DGS 6500 that I quickly got rid of I put the deck back on my horse and made a worker out of it.Heres what I think I know about it, year-72---it is a "C" model--- short frame---and it mows circles around a crapsman. Any other info I can get would be awsome! :woohoo:
rydogg 186 #2 Posted August 6, 2011 all C series are long frames I believe
sorekiwi 761 #3 Posted August 6, 2011 I'm thinking the first of the C Series wasnt till '74, and I thought you said it was a Raider? A long frame tractor has a wheelbase of 45", short frame 41", and a medium frame 43".
rmaynard 14,952 #4 Posted August 6, 2011 The 1974 C-120 and C-160 Automatic had a short frame. The actual frame was 35-1/2" compared to a later model C that measured 37-1/2". Edit: Fat fingered typo on the later model C. Corrected to 37-1/2".
Anglo Traction 759 #5 Posted August 6, 2011 I'm confused!. Both my '72' Raider and '74' C-120 have 37 1/2" Frames. My User Manual for the '72' Raider states a Wheelbase of 45 1/2". Perhaps it was because they were built in Belgium :woohoo:
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #6 Posted August 6, 2011 You're OK, Richard. The only '74/'75 garden tractor models that were "medium frames" were the B-80 4 speed and the B-100 automatic. I'm not sure where Bob found that information. :woohoo:
