tarcoleo 119 #1 Posted July 8, 2011 Just opened a package from Glen's containing a set of blades for a WH 48" deck. At least that's what I ordered. These measure 15-1/2" end to end. I believe they should be 16-1/16" long. Did I get the wrong blades? Is there more than one size for 48" decks? Tom in RI :woohoo:
tarcoleo 119 #2 Posted July 8, 2011 Received a response from Glen's in which it is suggested that the proper way to measure blade length is along the diagonal from corner to corner. When I do that with their blades I get 16-1/16", but only 15-1/2" lengthwise. The old blades on my three 48" decks are 16" lengthwise. So is their way correct, and are their blades not going to leave unmowed streaks? Tom in RI :woohoo:

That is the correct way to measure them!! Only the tips of blades do the cuting. Chas

CasualObserver 3,406 #5 Posted July 8, 2011 That's the correct way as far as I know. It's the longest possible dimension.
