Greyhound Shipping Anyone use it?

Recommended Posts

I bought a rear quarter panel for my wifes Dodge Grand Caravan from ebay. The seller is from Florida and used Greyhound shipping. I will have to pick up the package at my local terminal. Problem is they told the guy around 3 days. That was about two weeks ago... He shipped it from the terminal and they don't do tracking unless you do it all online. He has the ticket number though..Problem number 2 is actually trying to get an actual person to talk to on the phone...

Are they normally fairly quick to ship items? I have no experience with them at all until now and I have to say customer service is not all that great..calling my local terminal is useless unless I call when they first open..The one day I called and got the voice-mail saying they was closed. They was supposed to be open like 30 min. before I called, lol

Finally got through to someone that actually wanted to help and seemed to know what they was talking about..He gave me another number as I didn't have a bus ticket number..Now calling that number I go through the usual press this number that number etc etc. until finally they say they are transferring me to a human....I wait and wait then all of a sudden I get a busy tone..

Now I got the bus number from the seller but again I get nothing but a busy tone when calling..Guess I will blow up their phone first thing tomorrow morning as that seems to be the only time you can get through..

I am not in a big hurry for the panel..just wanting to make sure that I really am going to get it....and undamaged at that...I like quick transactions and I believe the seller does too as he has been trying to contact greyhound too...even before I was...

I had fenders for my Nova shipped from AZ to MI that way, only took about a week, seller boxed them very good so I had no damage issue, I only work 2 blocks from the bus terminal so it was easy to pick up also.

Not speaking for TT however he had a response to a post by a member looking for a shipping carrier and he suggested Greyhound.

Well today I call my local terminal and still no package..I call the other number they guy gave me on Saturday and the lady barely spoke English and I couldn't understand but half what she said. I did get that the number they gave me is not the number I need and she gave me another number but I didn't write it down as I was pretty sure I would have it wrong because I could not understand her. Tried to call my local one back to try for the correct number to call and it was busy all day long and couldn't get through. Guess the only time to call is when they first open in the morning, LOL

Well we figured out what has happen...The seller shipped out two items that day and they got mixed up by Greyhound..Did not find this out until the other guy contacted the seller that his Ford door was actually a Dodge quarter panel, lol

Now the only fishy part to me seems to be that I never received the Ford door so I don't know whats going on with that..I just hope that with all the handling that my panel comes to me in good condition..

Ya know this is starting to sound kinda fishy.... how much feedback did the ebay seller have and was it positive? I never buy from anyone with less then 50 and 95% or better positive.

There are a lot of scammers out there and will string you along with a story about shipping for quite awhile while the check clears and then poof they are gone.

Did you use paypal? the resolution center works wonders. I've had to use it a few times.

Ditto, open a claim with paypal as soon as you can. I've also had reasonably good experiences shipping large items via Greyhound, considering all was on the up and up from the get go. Your deal already sounds suspicious to me, I'd be worried too. :woohoo:

Yes I did begin to wonder about if I was getting scammed or not..

I am very careful about watching the feed back etc. This person happens to have 189 feed backs and all 100% pos. He also is the first person to contact me asking if i had received the parts and I was the one not too worried about it yet. Then he contacted me because he wanted to know where the panel was as he was told 3 days to ship it and explained he couldn't get through to my local terminal ( neither could I except when they first open )

Then last night he emails saying that he sent out two parts the same day and Greyhound got the parts mixed up. Claims that my part went to the other guy and that guy called him to say he received the wrong part. The seller thought maybe there was a mix up and I might have the other wrong part. He gave me the bus ticket numbers for both parts and his phone number to call him today. I called and he said they cannot find the other guys part but they will try to get mine headed to me on Monday or Tuesday..

Oh ya, Yes I did pay with PayPal and always do so just for that reason..Never had to do it yet but with all the scammers I am sure one day I will get my turn at it, LOL

The biggest issue we have had is trying to contact a real human so we could find out where all the parts are at..You cannot track the package online unless you print and ship it from their web site. You still get a ticket number to track with but you have to call or go to the terminal.

OK, that sounds a little better. At least the communication line is still open between you two. Good luck. :woohoo:

Well it has been more than 30 days now and I still do not have my panel. Supposedly the guy that got the wrong part was supposed to take the panel to Greyhound and they was supposed to ship it to my terminal this last week.I called greyhound this morning and they say they have no package for me but I should have received it by now. They wonder if they sent it back to the sellers terminal.

I emailed the seller and said he should contact his terminal to see if it is there. I also said that it has been over 30 days and I have to file a dispute before 45 days if I should need to. I told him I either want my panel or a refund or I will be filing a complaint. I have no choice but to do so. That panel has had a tour of the USA and probably is full of dents etc by now...

I have never used Greyhound and I know things happen with every shipper but I have to say my first experience with them is not to good. Talked with the customer service guy today and he didn't sound like he would put much trust in them himself, LOL
