I bid on this one on a popular web auction site. Whodathunkit! I won it! Had to put the deal together and go sunday to pick it up. 5 hours to coloumbus Oh. Noway I could drive 10 hours round trip to the show. Then 10 hours round trip to pick this up.. my back can't take the abuse! Horse'n Around 22 #2 Posted July 5, 2011 Oh Bud, You hooked a whopper there!!! That s a beauty! Im a Mopar nut thru and thru and I always will be ! I wish I still had them all Are Ya going to leave the 340 in it or put the 273 in it? I know if it were me Id be tempted to just leave the 340 in it, seeing as the 273 will just drop right in. Just curious.. would the 273 use the same torque converter / flex plate as the 340? I seem to remember the 340 and 360's being externally balanced but its been a while and my mind is a bit rusty. Now I gotta wipe the puddles of drool off my keyboard Sweet Barracuda John
shootinok 15 #3 Posted July 5, 2011 I never was a Mopar fan spent my youth Fixing Or Repairing Daily One problem I had with those old 'Cuda's is they were freekin FAST! :woohoo:
horsefeathers 15 #4 Posted July 5, 2011 John, It ain't a wall hanger but it's cool ! Everything is original on the car but the 340! Early 340's had forged cranks as did the 273 hipo. '72 and later 340's had cast cranks The stock 904 cable shift is in the car so 273 is a drop in! But the 340 stays... It's an up grade! HORSEFEATHERS! horsefeathers 15 #10 Posted July 6, 2011 No it's not original paint...has 1 repaint on it and not a great job. I plan to paint it in the next few weeks the originl factory red! The owner miss represnted the car and droped the price substantily! Needs floor pan work and the lower quaters are poped 'n bondoed. I'll have this fish reeled in soon! But I wasn't lookin' for a project! I have a '68 Charger project that's still waitin', and waitin'! Anyone know what MOPAR stands for? Miscelaneous Obsolete Parts Assembled Recklessly! Jim I may just stop and see ya' friend! HORSEFEATHERS!
