One of a kind 56 RJ35 Perhaps?

I found this on ebay and worked out a deal with the seller. He pulled this out of a barn after sitting for about 40+ years. This is a one owner machine that the elderly owners bought new for they're daughter to drive around when she was a kid (she is in her 60's now). After that it was parked. Rims are shot so the first few pics shows it with them on. The rear tires are still good but the fronts are gone. Motor is free and seems to have very good compression.

It is ALL there and then some. I have never seen a Clinton with this electric start kit on it. In speaking with Fireman he had some paperwork showing it. It is missing the actual 12 volt starter motor but I am sure I can figure that out. You can see the battery box and neg ground wire. It also has/had front lights. I removed the rims and tires and put on replacements so I can roller it around. I then oiled her up to see just how bad the paint is. I am very excited about this find. It is a keeper for sure.

If you have ANY information on this set up please reply here. I have never seen such a cool set up !! Thanks- Stevebo-

Thanks Gary, that is good info. Steve, I think she will stay as is. Lots of used motor oil needs to be wiped on her for sure ! I will mount the original rear tires on a black set of rims and install a new set of fronts on black rims too. :woohoo:

Huge score Steve!!! I thought that was a Chief starting system. I'd keep that one just the way it is. It's only original once :woohoo:

Nice score Steve. Now I think you need to get rid of something. I have always wondered why you don't use fresh motor oil, it smells so much better minus any contaminants. :woohoo:

Nice machine Steve! But dude, you gotta stop that salad dressing cr_p with the oil. Try soap, water and a good compound/cleaner wax. That dirty oil method is just plain odd.

Steve,

Wheel Horse offered a electric start kit for both the Kohler K-90 and Clinton B 1200 engines, these were ordered as the EK-35 (Kohler) and the EC-35 (Clinton) for the RJ series tractors. :woohoo:

That is a cool old machine, I use WD-40 to wipe my tractors down, I put it on heavy, let it set, then wipe it down with a dry towel, it brings out the red, and keeps the rust at bay, this is how I preserve my tractors I don't want to paint, I've herd guys use diesel fuel to, but that stinks.
