JUSS10 250 #1 Posted June 27, 2011 we do message series at my church and for the next 6 weeks the series is based on the show american pickers. I'm pretty active in volunteering at church whether it be in the band or tech side of things. when i heard about this series and heard they wanted to set up the stage for the series i jumped at the chance to bring some of my "rusty gold" to display. along with a few vintage camera, jeep parts, bottles and racks, boxes, and gas cans, i also brought a 654 round hood of mine that has been sitting in storage untouched since i purchased it last summer. Its been getting a lot of comments and i have spent some time talking with older individuals who have fond memories of similar tractors they used when they were younger, its been a cool conversation piece after the services. so anyway, here is a picture i snapped today after one of the services, they did a great job setting the stage for the series. puddlejumper 67 #5 Posted June 27, 2011 I hope they never pick one, and if they do I hope they buy it cheap and lose their butt. Because if they over dramatize it everybody who has a forgotten one in the barn will be looking for a fortune.
JUSS10 250 #6 Posted June 27, 2011 very true puddlejumper! I am also into jeeps, i remember quite a few years ago there was a show called "trucks" where the host talked about a few secrets or cheap sources for parts, everyone seeked out those parts and the prices sky rocketed, all thanks to a TV show. based on the things they "pick" i dont think wheel horse would be one of them, i would only think some of the really rare garden tractors would draw interest... My point was guys, American pickers don't pick As for prices they have already sky rocketed!!! Y and D!!! God bless!!!
Kingwood990 16 #8 Posted June 27, 2011 That has to be one of the coolest displays I have ever seen. That 654 looks at home on stage.
puddlejumper 67 #9 Posted June 27, 2011 Well, I have to admit when I watch american pickers, I look for horses and old tractors in the background. I have seen a few old garden tractors on the show but never a horse. Sorry I misread/interpreted your post gene. But they will get around to it eventually or they will run out of material.
