Installed a Flagpole & Did some Landscaping

Recommended Posts

HorseFixer

After installing the sprinkler system memorial day weekend I wanted to finish off the landscaping around the large Rock in our front yard. I took Ed (RedBirds) advice and installed a master valve ahead of my zone valves. Thanks Ed believe it or not they stuck open last week running an extra 4 hrs! :hide: better late than never I guess! :WRS: Anyway years ago I made a flag Pole out of

2" pipe it had been layin along side the garage for 10 years. :hide: So I decided to finally get it up but wanted to make a hinged base for servicing. I welded up and Fabbed the base last weekend she stand 23' above the ground. Anyway I got it cleaned up with fresh coat of paint. I also wanted of course to fly the flag 24/7 which would require lighting up Ole Glory. I accomplished this by LED Solar Lighting with 2 Light below my flags and a Top mount LED Solar Light. After I got the flag pole installed this week we started landscaping. I decided to remove the sod around the Large rock 2 1/2 tp 3' and install grey brick edging which I dug a trench and cemented in and filled with pea gravel. Here it is. Nearly 260 brick and 1500 lbs of Pea Gravel later :) Damn I need a Beer! :disgust:

As usual Duke, a first rate job that looks great with all the bells and whistles. :WRS: Now if ya just had that one unruly fence slat back in position to complete the un-redneck effect... :hide: then a couple of night shots of the flag lit up would be nice. :)

Nice work :hide: I too would like to see a few night shots. Where did you get your lighting? I like the solar light idea.

Nice stones Duke. I'd love to talk methodology with the man that did them. Were the done by a monument company?

Looks good Duke ... :hide:

but you must be slipping in your "ol" age :)

Thought for sure you would have had fans installed to blow the flags straight out when the wind wasn't blowing :WRS:

Enjoy

Chaz :disgust:

Wouldn't look half bad with a CT flag either..... but then again this idiot govenor would find a way to tax you for displaying it. :hide:
