Hey Dad, Happy Father's Day!

Recommended Posts

Dad's have a happy Fathers Day.

I am planning on being outside as much as possible, taking that C-160 out and driving it til I'm out of gas! My dad's been gone for 20 years now, hard to believe, but my C-160 is looking top notch and I'm planning on a day of working, just like Dad used to make me do, and I'm making my kids work right along next to me! Now that's a Fathers Day!

So Happy Fathers Day to all you dad's out there! Enjoy the day both as a dad and a Son!

To all the fathers out there, Happy Fathers day to every one on RS. I'm going over to dads today and cut some trees up, cut the grass and cut some more trees up, I have 15 large trees to get down and cut up before another dead one falls on something like on moms van :hide: a pic of dad enjoying His gift.

I had an early Father's Day surprise yesterday. My kids brought a party to my door. They showed up with all the food and a new grill to cook it on. It was a wonderful day. May all you Dad's out there have a great day today. :hide:

It was a great fathers day. I didn't take the C-160 out of the shed at all. I spent the entire day on the 416. A couple years back I messed with the hydro linkage and it hasn't been the same since. Also, reverse was to the point of almost non-existant, so today was its full Spring cleaning and adjustment.

Off came the seat and fender and cleaned everything up perfectly getting all the old grass out of there. Then I adjusted the linkage for the direction lever but it still didn't seem to go fully into reverse. So I took the cam plate off and found my problem. There was dirt packed in there so tightly that it wouldn't go full backwards (or forwards). I cleaned it out, deglazed the cam and tension parts and put it all together again. It's like new again. Full range forward and reverse, I'm doing the happy dance.

I have a new hydro filter, but don't have enough oil for an oil change so that will wait. I need to get a new engine oil filter as well. It's great to have had the entire day to get the 416 perfect again. It's all cleaned up now and as I was looking at it it's hard to believe that it will be 18 years old in October.

I had some time left over so I put the old seat (which was actually a new seat from the C-160 onto the 414. World of difference there too!

Going to get a bunch of oil tomorrow and start changing oil. What a great day! Hope you all had a great one too!
