42" side discharge and a B-80

Does anybody know what size belt is required to operate a 42" side discharge deck on my early B-80? It is the shorter frame with a 4 speed transaxle. TIA!

As far as I know, this was not an OEM configuration, so you'll probably be further ahead by either buying several belts and returning what you don't use, or hauling the tractor to the parts store.

The "long frame" tractors would use a 103.25" long belt and you're 2" short on wheelbase in comparison, so my guess would be around a 95 to 97 inch long belt - but remember ~ that's only a guess. :hide:

I cant answer for sure, but when I fitted my snowblower to my B80 I decided that since it was 2" shorter than a long frame tractor I'd start with a belt 4" shorter.

It was about perfect, but then I suspect the tensioner arrangement on the blower has a little more room for error than the belt adjustment on a mule-drive. :hide:
