Looks are deceiving. I had some problems with the paint. I used the remains of the paint that I painted last years tractor with, and I think it went bad over the winter. I stored it in an unheated garage and I think that caused a problem. If you are familiar with the term "solvent pop", that is what I think happened. The first coat goes on very smooth. Then after a 5 minute flash time, the second coat is to be applied. About 1 minute after the second coat went on, little pin-point spots developed. Looks like dust, but it is coming from under the paint. :hide: The activator is new, but the paint is a year old, and I think the two don't react properly. Last year's paint job was flawless, and I didn't do anything different this year other than get new activator.

After the show, I am going to work on it, but I don't have time now.

JimD calls his tractor a "20-footer". Looks good from 20 feet. In my opinion, that is what I have now. :)

How about a little game of "what's different?"

well this is what i noticed so far, installed parts on both tractors...

coil color

bolts painted vs zinc

battery cable to solenoid color

round something under the b-100 decal on the hoodstand is different (bear with me-not familiar with b-100s at all.)

the model# tag, battery hold down and fuel filter/line to fuel pump is not on the newer one yet, and the hub caps arent on the older one, but these dont really count for me as both tractors arent 'totally' finished.

im sure i missed other things, but the bolts is what started me looking.... :hide:

I didn't think the picture was that sharp to be able to all that. Okay, you've got a sharp eye. It's not finished yet so some of the items are just not there yet but, here's the differences:

All visible hardware is stainless steel, not zinc or painted like the '77.

The coil is black.

The fuel pump is new. (plastic)

Positive battery cables are red.

Hub covers are missing on the '77.

Don't know about the "round" thing.

Other things:

Fuel filter, battery hold-down, and I.D. tag have no been installed yet.

If I get it finished today, I will put the '76 and '77 side-by-side and take a couple of pictures.

Good eyes Martin! :hide:

No floor mats or black button on the armstrong release lever on the recent B. Oh, and little pin point spots in the paint on the recent B. Sorry Bob couldn't resist! :hide:

Do I see wheel studs & lug nuts?

You betcha. Since I'm selling the kits on eBay, I thought I should have them on my tractors. :hide:

PROGRESS! :hide:

Thought that I would let the new horse meet last years horse. Here are the "twins" grazing in the grass.

Still need to add footrest pads and rear reflectors, and I need to tweak a few adjustments, but overall, it's about 99% complete.

By the way, I got a shipment in the mail today from VinylGuy.
