518xi oil temp & fuel gauge problems

My 518xi has a problem with the oil temp & fuel gauges. The oil temp gauge red lines after short time. Changed sending unit & checked all air inlets for deris, oil level is OK . Oil temp gauge still red lines. Could it be a bad gauge? Also fuel gauge

reads full all the time. Can anyone help? Thanks NICK

I am having the exact same problem with my Toro made new Holland gt 18 so keep me informed on what you find out I have already pulled all tins off motor to make sure it was all clean rebuild carb checked for intake to heads and carb to intake gasket leak found none

It sounds like you have a bad ground. With two gauges going awry your gas gauge needs a reference ground to complete the circuit since it is just a resistor. Check all the grounds in the engine compartment since the hood sides are removable that's the easy part.
