fourwheels0 191 #2 Posted May 10, 2011 ok after 10 minutes of running at idle and throttling up and down i get these temps. front of the head near the valves 290 back of the head 240 exhaust pipe at the elbow before the muffler 500-525. i used a ray-tec temp gun for those wondering. just wondering if these are normal temps. W9JAB 156 #3 Posted May 11, 2011 I installed this temp. gauge just before this last winter. It is tee off the oil drain plug. During the snow blowing season with s.a.e. 20 oil the gauge never moved even after hours of working. Now with the same oil cutting grass last week, the temp went to 130.
