Moldboard Plow Question

Recommended Posts

mattd860

I got a moldboard plow for my tractor but it didn't come with the front 'disc'. Is it absolutely necessary to have this or can I plow without it?

Well it depends on 2 things :

1- are you cutting sod ??

2- are you turning over dirt in a garden that's been worked before??

Well it will do it but the cutter disc is what "cuts " the sod so it will turn

Some soils are tougher than others So give it a try

The plow will work without a coulter. But in sod that hasn't been worked before it will want to rip and it may pull a little harder.
