Hopefully we are all done with the snow and cold temps for this season here in lower New England. I just opened my seasonal camper (Massachusetts) for this year and I have all the water hoses hooked up so a cold snap would really suck  .

You're not alone Don...we just got about 1" of the white slush last night. I was going to cut some grass this week, heck I may be plowing again before the week is over. :wh:

Woke yesterday to an inch of white on the ground and 28 degrees with wind. This Am no snow but 32 degrees. I'm ready for summer, or heck, even a normal spring would be nice!

Mother Nature may be a joker, but no one is laughing around here. Several tornadoes in the St. Louis area, the strongest an EF4 with winds up to 220 mph, reported over 2000 homes damaged, some were literally wiped out completely. Most have probably heard about Lambert Airport being hit - technically it wasn't hit by the tornado as the tornado followed a path right down I-70 (the airport is a little north of I-70), but it was winds that caused the damaged at the airport. In all, 7 tornadoes were confirmed in the St. Louis area and surrounding areas alone. I'll take the white stuff any day.

Hey Dan "dkopp":

Everything OK in Poplar Bluff? We're hoping your levee holds!

Also, I heard there was a tornado west of Poplar Bluff, not to mention the killer one in Arkansas also. With the flooding, levee breaks, and tornadoes, southeast Missouri is getting hammered.

I'm high and (somewhat) dry. I live on the west side of PB and not in any danger of flooding at my house, but those on the lower east side are under. Not to mention 10 miles of Hwy 53 and just about every county road out there. It's super flat in the bootheel and the water drains slowly. Last night about 5:30 it rained hard for about 2 hours. Got 5 inches total last night and that brings the grand total up to 14 inches since Thursday night. Anybody got a set of pontoons for my little Murray mower? How about one of those underwater weed-wackers? Bad thing is, it's not over. We are inline for another round tonight.

Here is a link to the USGS website on the current stats of the Black River at PB. It's not as high as it was back in 2008, but it could surpass that if we get enough rain tonight. Actually, back in 2008, most of that rain fell to our northwest and pushed it up that far.

USGS Website for Black River @ Poplar Bluff

As far as I know, the levees are holding, but water is going over them at certain spots.

Had reports of funnel clouds last night but no damage to speak of that I've heard of. Thank God!
