Finally finished my latest project...

What the frig! They still haven't raised the water level. I restored this 1948 race boat over the winter and I've been itching to get it out. The motor is a 1949 and has been totally rebuilt as well. I didn't want to take it out until I got it lettered up, Got that done today and it was a nice day so I figured what the hell. I'm gonna have to wait a little longer...

I knew you would know where the name came from Charlie. Most guys think an A/FX car is something you run on a little race track with controllers in your hand. Its real nice to know someone remembers the real A/FX cars. Yes, I have lots of Mopar blood running thru my veins.

If you watch this vid I'm wheeling my Charger with a 440 in it. It had an honest 450 hp with a set of 4.56's out back. With a set of street slicks it was a very tough car for the boys in town to beat. I also owned a sweet 69 Charger R/T 440/6 and a 71 Dart with a 340 in it. This was about 25 yrs. ago.

I wish I had an old Power Wagon to pull the boat with. There is a sweet 72 Power Wagon short bed with a factory 440 in it for sale that I know of. I'm a little short on the cash for it though.

Nice burnout! That car must have been a ton of fun with those low gears and slicks. I caught a driving to endanger charge for doing a horror show like that when I was young. I first thought that video was from the early 80's by the looks of the shorts and socks on the bleach guy. I'm guessing 1986 though. Was that a 1986 GSXR 750 in the garage with the Le Mans?

Beautiful boat, Ken! I'm envious.......

As to the water level, you don't have enough, and I've got way too much. I can't get either of my boats (my own or the Safety Boat at work) launched because we've been running under flood watches and warnings for days now.

Yes the vid is 1986 ish. I'm pretty sure the GSXR was an 86 as well.

If you mean the other cars in the video, one was Augies, and the white Lemans 4 speed was his brother Nicks, which I wound up owning not long after the video was made. I can remember when Augie had the 400 in his Lemans rebuilt, he thought he had me covered. Even after he put 4.10's in it with a posi I stuck it to him to the tune of at least 15 car lengths. I can remember his complete disappointment.

I finally got to take my boat for a rip. Top speed with this motor by the end of the day was around 40mph with the gps. Next time out I'll bring a bunch of different props to try. These motors are very picky when it comes to props and setup. I'm shooting for 45mph with this motor. Just a few more mph and it won't porpoise! Here is a vid. http://www.youtube.com/user/Feathercrafter?feature=mhum

I got to see it in person the other week, and the pics don't deliver it's true craftsmanship. I didn't get to see the before pics though.. :wh: Even more impressed.

That boat sounds awesome on the water also. Great job Ken!
