mr.pipes 4 #1 Posted March 29, 2011 There was a coupon in Sunday's paper for the 6.5hp for $89 I got this pic online. This coupon is good till 5/15/11 I think the one I got is good till 5/31/11 I think it was $12 for a 2 year no questions asked replacement when I bought mine. Just thought I would post this for those who didn't see it who may be looking for a cheap replacement engine.
mowerman1193 42 #2 Posted March 29, 2011 You know I often wondered how the quality of these cheap motors was. My brother bought one of these 6.5hp motors last year to put on his walk behind snow blower. He has been very pleased with it. Anybody here have any experience with them? sscotsman 186 #3 Posted March 29, 2011 IMO, even with the coupon, its still overpriced by about $99. Scot
mr.pipes 4 #4 Posted March 29, 2011 IMO, even with the coupon, its still overpriced by about $99. Scot I understand if you don't like these engines for certain reasons. I just found out Saturday that my only sister and one year old son will be moving to Hong Kong for two years minimum. It sounds like my brother in law would be OK with staying indefinitely. I'm not exactly crazy about China either right now. However, it is anything but overpriced. I don't know of anywhere else you can buy an engine for $100, beat the hell out of it you want and get a replacement for free if it fails within two years. If you have read any reviews you will see they are mostly positive. I just wanted to let others know about what I think is a good deal.
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted March 29, 2011 I may have to get one for my kids go kart, that is only a few bucks more than the tucky carb I need for the old engine. Now I need to find the ad.
VinsRJ 723 #6 Posted March 29, 2011 I've been using these motors for a coupel years now on a variety of applications.... not one has failed in anyway. I even have one modded up, it pulls hard and runs mint. These motors have their place. Say what you will about these motors and the Chineese.... but, for $89, $99 or $109 there is no better motor for the money on the market today.

can whlvr 994 #13 Posted March 30, 2011 i have a chinese 6.5 on my c120auto,it came on it,it cant hold a candle to a true honda,it doesnt start good if it sits for a few months,i have hondas that start in -40 and not been started for a year,i know a honda is more $,but a far batter motor,i know 89 dollars is cheap,so it might do the trick for the cash
rmaynard 16,291 #14 Posted March 30, 2011 If you want to order one of those engines online, just go to the engine page, find the 6.5hp engine, go to checkout and put in code 57636490 and it will recalculate the price to $89.99. You can print the order and take it to your local store and make the purchase. Edit: Started this post about 20 minutes ago and got distracted. By the time I posted it, the above info had already by posted. Sorry for the duplication.
