Dresden Guy

Cool video and Ventrac are awesome! A friend of mine, who owns our little hardware store in Dresden, owns one and swears by it.

The Ventrac dual-wheel looks like the Mars Rover vehicle with a mower deck. :wh:

I would guess that 4230(?) dually unit costs in excess of $12,000 - just guessing.

The Ventrac is very cool and has a lot of good attachments. It can mow slopes up to 30 degrees vertically and horizontally. Some places you cannot mow vertically because the tire tracks and wheel spin promote erosion on steep slopes.

A friend of mine works at a waste management and recycling company where they have some old landfills with steep slopes. Last summer they had a guy come in with slope mowers that can handle 40 degrees horizontally. He gets over $2000 a day to mow the slopes around the landfill. I guess he has a couple of mowers and goes up and down the east coast mowing slopes.

I think he uses these KutKwick mowers. I don't remember what they cost but I did look at prices before. I forget if they were $45K new or used. Cool machines though, the seat pivots and the driver and the seat stay level.

Steiners and Ventracs are very similar and I assume attachments still interchange. Both were built in Ohio Amish country until Steiner sold and moved out.

Steiner no longer builds this one.

Steiner also use to build a small arm mower to rough mow hills and ditch or pond banks.
