Hi Wheelhorsemen! I'm Bill from Montgomery,Al and just picked up a Work Horse 700 Sat. It is very needy. It sat out doors for years and I traded a guy some Harley parts after he rescued it and put it in a barn. The transaxle has water in it and won't shift and the & 7 horse is dead. I already have the tractor apart and have a lead on a Kohler 12 horse. Look forward to sucking up info on these little tractors and hope I canProfile.jpg shre some as well. Bill

And a 12hp kohler will not be a bolt in, if it is a 301A you will have to cut the hood up and I think you will have to modify the belt guard alot, if it's a 301AS depending on what it is out of, you might need to swap the oil pan, and minor mods to the belt guard, wiring and cables will have to be changed.

a 8hp Kohler will fit better with fewer changes.

Welcome Bill, I'm sure with your Harley experience you'll have here up, running, and looking good in no time. Lots of information and help around. Just ask.

Thanks guys. Kelly, after more reserch on the 301, which is an electric start, I found that the oil pan may need changing. It is on a Cub 126 and I think they may have a deep pan.. I don't mind modifying but I'd rather not cut any body panels. I have an M18qs that I'd love to put on it but that sucker is huge in comparison to the wh.

I'm going through all the threads trying to absorb as much as I can and thanks for any advice.
