Another Winter storm in New England

Recommended Posts

Who's the guy who jinxed us?? We are getting hammered in Northern Vermont. We have gone from two days of rain to one night of heavy snowfall and high winds. Kathy just measured out our garage door and it's 16 inches and counting with drifts of over 2 1/2 feet. This is supposed to go on till one o'clock today with up to 24 inches of snow falling forecast.

Dreaming of green grass and 80 degree weather right now.

Anyone taken pics of this yet??

Rained all day yesterday in central Maryland, and the temps were in the upper forties. Woke up this morning to 1" of snow. That's much better than your 24".

I guess Mother Nature is not finished with us yet.

Wow...we are getting just rain here. I don't think it is going to change over to snow in southern Maine, but I know Northern Maine is getting hit hard too.

This just plain sucks, warmed up and melted the snow then rained all day yesterday. This morning had to snowblow, didn't measure but to give an idea the snow is deeper than the WH two stage. With the unfrozen ground the blower digs into the lawn and driveway. And of course we have WIND to make it more fun

Oh well I do live in NY

No, its definately not over yet. Just when I thought it was going away too. Last night we got about 2", today we get a reprieve. Then tonight it starts again. Snow tonight and tomorrow, then a break til tuesday night and snow all day wednesday. But they claim it is going to stay warm-ish so at least we'll have that. And, because we here in Minnesota believe in being so Minnesota nice, We are gonna send it all east . You all are quite welcome. It looks like Roger, down there in Iowa is gonna get some nice storms too. Spring is almost here, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel----Gee, I hope its not a train

Well over 2 feet of snow, close to 30 plus inches have fallen so far. Got video of the Vermonster throwing this stuff, snow is over the back wheels on the rig. So deep if you got out of the channel you blew you could get stuck. Roads haven't been plowed since this Am, no cars traveling anywhere today.

No Steve, not whining...not at all. The snows so deep the chain link broke, the belt started to slip, and the transfer box came undone. Not whining at all, do you KNOW how much SEAT time I got today??

BUT...didn't we have a member here state it was time to take off the blower and hook up the deck??

"They" are now calling for up to 28 inches, well, we have already got that beat!!

Videos to follow once I get them down loaded.

Thanks guys!

Darren, I can't believe it as well went to sleep last night with maybe 4 inches on the ground, woke to this!!

Jim, we used to have a guy plow, but that was a lot of $$$ and we would run out of room to put it all, as it is this year, even with the blower, I have 8 foot drifts in some areas!!

Steve, wish you were here as well, Kathy tries to help God bless her but...has a hard time operating the horses. It would be a blast if there were two or more of us! Beam you out?? Jim Beam??

Gerry

Sorry the videos were so short, Kathy was running out of battery and it's nasty out there! I've got to go and run clean up again, hope they plowed the roads by now, need to make a gas run!!

Wow,

Makes me feel a bit guilty living in "old England",

temps in the 60's, primroses out in flower, planted beans, onion sets even had to cut the lawn last weekend. Deck right up I left swaths behind.

I'll shut up now,

Gerry, I feel bad for you guys out there. I know how much fun that can be. But after several times it starts to become a chore again, especially when you just get done and you have to start again. WE are going to be lucky this round. Only 4"to6" and NO I am NOT sorry. I am starting to smell dirt in my dreams. I want spring.

 Sorry for the jinx! I only asked the question "was Winter done yet?" We got up into the 70's that week. No, my ST is still on the B-80. Sorry for all the snow...I guess that groundhog, here in PA, was wrong! I remember the Blizzard of '78 when I lived in CT..wasnt that Feb?

Your Vermontser is great looking!!

I'll buy you a "hot" cup of joe at the WH Show in June...maybe the roads will be cleared by then?
