mr.pipes 4 #3 Posted March 4, 2011 Mid-mount or front mount, Lefty? Duff Mid-Mount is a Grader Blade and Front Mount is a Dozer Blade, but more commonly called a plow. The 40" Mid-Mount Grader was made from 1965-1983.

dgoyette 12 #7 Posted March 5, 2011 And I guess technically the dozer blade is rear mount. It extends to the front but is mounted to the rear axle. 40" is mid mount and 50" grader was rear mount with the same mounts as the dozer blade.
mr.pipes 4 #8 Posted March 5, 2011 And I guess technically the dozer blade is rear mount. It extends to the front but is mounted to the rear axle. 40" is mid mount and 50" grader was rear mount with the same mounts as the dozer blade. You make a good point. Some of the first Dozer blades are mounted where the 40" mid-mount grader is. I'm not so familiar with the round hoods but I think those were front mount. Most people call the 50" grader a mid-mount when it is a rear-mount. When I think rear-mount I think of an implement being behind the machine. Basically wherever the business end of the attachment is I refer to the mount location. Technically incorrect but most will know what you are referring to. I think.
