Splittin wood with the Farmall

Recommended Posts

rydogg

Its been warmer here in Minnesota lately so I decided we should split some wood before it gets cold again. My 4 years old son is running the pump controls while I load the wood to be split...it worked out great and he did a great job I still have all my fingers and he stayed away from the PTO since he was running the controls. The splitter is a pretty cool set up it has a 3 speed manual Ford transmission so I can run the tractor at an idle and get the pump up to speed through the transmission. Here are some pictures.

Ryan;

Nice set-up there. I use a maul and split 5-6 cords a year or more. I have 10 yr old twin boys and soon I will introduce them to this chore. Good lookin kid too!!
