KB9LOR 4 #2 Posted February 5, 2011 Okay does anyone know if those 2 rubber seals are "O" rings? I don't think they are. anyone have any info?
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #3 Posted February 5, 2011 They are probably square and should also have backer rings. Are there any hydraulic repair shops in your area? How about heavy equipment dealers like CAT, Case, etc.? I don't believe I have ever seen a parts breakdown of that particular valve, but I doubt that there's any seals that you can't get from a good hydraulic shop. Not square TT, even the hole the shaft fits in is round, I have a repair manual for a lift valve that uses the square seals, but it is nothing like this one. And compared to "O" rings, these rings look thicker than normal "O" rings, dunno, it has got me stumped And it has no backer rings at all. What you see in the picture is all that came out of that Lift valve, really strange.

Yeah going to Monday, going to the place that had the seals for my old log splitter cylinder last year. Trying to get all info I can before going over there, and will buy xtra of the seals to help out someone else who may have the same problem I did. Thanks for the input kelly, it is appreciated. TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #13 Posted February 6, 2011 I rooted through everything I have and found absolutely nothing related to the service of pre-1973 valve assemblies. Everything I saw was either for the Oliver (OMCO) or Victor spool valves used after 1972.

Everything I saw was either for the Oliver (OMCO) or Victor spool valves used after 1972. TT, I too have rooted everywhere to no avail... I guess this is going to benefit everyone who needs pre 1973 valve seals, I will post all info I get on the rebuild of the valve, well at least the putting back together part and the specs and source of the seals.
